Plasma Televisions Last!
Plasma televisions can last longer than your existing TV
electronics. While most televisions
have a life span of 12-15 years, the plasma television will last significantly
longer. Most plasma manufacturers claim that their TV will now last 60 000
hours. As most people watch an average of 2 000 hours per year, your plasma will
be around for at least 30 years!
Which Should I Choose; Plasma or LCD?
If you are looking for a flat panel television,
here are the guidelines. Below 32 inches, buy a LCD, larger will be plasma.
Unless, of course, you have lots of money for a larger LCD.
Plasma TVs have an added advantage of being able to display fast movement
without any trailing too. Plasma has a much greater contrast ratio than LCD.
Panasonic lists their plasma TVs at 3000:1, while the best LCD tends to be only
1000:1 contrast ratio. Plasmas have a greater angle of view and better color
saturation as well.
One area where LCD has an advantage over plasma is in screen integrity. You need
to be careful with potential burn-in on plasma, but not the LCD TV.
