Television history is in many ways, modern history

Television history has followed the growth of the nation and in some ways, leads the way. Very few electronics have had such an effect on the culture of mankind, especially the United States. From the landing on the moon, the first TV debates, Nixon’s resignation, the Vietnam war, the Space Shuttles to the weird obsession with reality TV and celebrities, TV is the main focus point.

First Ideas and Drawings of TV?

1880's Concept Sketches of TV, then called the "Telephotoscope" showed people with individual receivers listening at home to a live concert, while a funnel-shaped device transfers a visual image to the wall. This predicts the future invention of television - simultaneous transmission of both sound and picture.

1948 Garod TV set (model 10TZ20), called a "Telezoom". However, it only enlarged the picture with the press of a button, but did not change channels. These were wired to the TV set, usually with a 20 foot long cable (wire).
